Are You An Urban Cowboy? Western Style Ceiling Fans Are For You!
So, you long for the wide, open spaces - but can't get away from that day job in the big city? No problem! You can fix up any room to resemble your favorite bunkhouse - or perhaps an old-time saloon from the glory days of the old west - just by adding one or more decorative western style ceiling fans. Below you will find some information that will help you choose just the right unit--
One of our favorite western style ceiling fans is called the 'Great Lodge' ceiling fan. It is made with a resin housing which is carefully hand-painted to simulate the texture and appearance of real wood. And the light kits that are available with this type of western style ceiling fans are truly wonderful: one securely cups the light in a bracket that looks just like an animal antler, another uses a weathered-iron finish with shades that look like the old-fashioned, sewn leather lamp shades - even multi-tiered chandelier styles. Grand!
Among some other great-looking western style ceiling fans you will find one that is my wife's personal favorite - is the Palmyra 54" model. She loves it because the ceiling fan paddle blades have small holes drilled near the outside edges, which are laced with leather - in fact, the entire blade is made to simulate the look of real leather. And the part she likes best? The motor housing - which is decorated with outdoor wilderness bear scenes (she likes this best because she collects stuffed bears, and her nickname is 'bear', so you know she would go for this). If you have any kids who fancy themselves young buckaroos, this would make a fantastic accessory for their room. In fact, it is one of the best-looking western style ceiling fans that I have seen for children's bedrooms or even the family playroom or den.
A third offering is for those who would like something a little more south, as well as west, in their ceiling fan décor - perhaps something reflecting the images and culture of the Navajo Indians? If so, you will love western style ceiling fans called 'Navajo Reflections.' The base color of the entire unit is a creamy white, but the light unit as well as the motor housing are decorated with Indian symbols and drawings, much as you might see them on a native wall painting. They are done in light blue, grey and teal, and look very authentic. If you want something even more 'primitive' you can't do any better than to pick the western style ceiling fans called 'Original Petroglyph.' Evoking the scratched-in-stone markings from the West's earliest inhabitants, the motor housing and lights are colored to look like authentic sandstone. The drawings are primitive representations of horses and buffalo, just as the Indians would have carved them. Of course, this is but the tip of the iceberg (or perhaps I should say just the beginning of the trail?) when it comes to available western style ceiling fans - you are encouraged to shop around; we're sure that you'll find just the right unit for your home.
